The Ancient Greek Inventions & Civilization exhibition in Cyprus, highlights the technological miracle of Greek antiquity and reveals how the foundations of modern science and engineering were laid more than two millennia ago.

Robotics and early computing mechanisms, steam-driven and gas-propulsion devices, automotive and automatic navigation systems, automation and mechanical programming, telecommunications and encryption, geodesy and mapping, as well as the pioneering use of hydraulic and wind energy, belt conveyance, gear pairs, and chain drives—all these sciences and techniques were first explored or developed in Ancient Greece.

Through selected reconstructions inspired by the works of great inventors and scientists such as Ktesibios, Philon of Byzantium, Heron of Alexandria, Eratosthenes, Aristarchus, and Hipparchus, the exhibition demonstrates how theoretical knowledge was transformed into ingenious practical applications. It invites visitors to discover an advanced technological world whose ideas continued to influence later civilizations and ultimately helped prepare the foundations for modern technological progress.
