The Hesiod plough

It was an ancient tool for the cultivation of land that continued almost identically to be used until recently. It
consisted of the metal ploughshare, the heavy oak sharebeam, the handle which was held by the cultivator, the
curved plough-tail and the long pole that had the yoke which was tied to the animals of tillage. In the “light” plough the share-beam, the plough-tail and the pole were of the same piece of timber.
