It was used for the elevation of large loads and its “mast” was constituted by two gigantic pieces of wood in the form of Λ. Its articulation was ensured by two dents in the ground. Its stabilisation in various inclinations was achieved by two balancing ropes that were tautened by hoists and winches.
The load rose with the help of the hoist “trispaston” with double “pulley-wheels” in each little axle. Instead of the reel, it allocated an axis at both sides by which the traction ropes of the load were wrapped and in the middle was a large wheel, that was turned with the help of a large manually – operated winch.
