The bow lathe

It consisted of a powerful base with two stable bearings and one which moved. An axle with different cross-sections for the guarantee of different speed rotation was placed between the stable bearings. The string of a bow was wrapped around the desired cross-section and with the reciprocating movement of the bow, the axle was turned left and right alternately. The wrought object was adapted between the cross edge of the axle and the movable bearing. The cutting tool was supported on the upper horizontal joist and was applied on the rotating object.
